We are seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and student-centered School Counselor to join our team. Partner with SMART Management and BridgePrep Academy in our mission to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of every student, ensuring they receive the guidance and support necessary to thrive in school and beyond.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct Student Counseling: Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students experiencing academic, social-emotional, or behavioral challenges.

  • Student Services & MTSS Coordination: Monitor student intervention plans, support MTSS frameworks, and respond promptly and professionally to student crises and referrals.

  • Family & Community Engagement: Serve as a trusted partner to families, facilitating support meetings, sharing resources, and providing clear communication on student progress.

  • Schoolwide Programs: Implement campus-wide character development initiatives, guidance lessons, and social-emotional learning activities to foster a positive school climate.

  • Professional Responsibilities: Maintain meticulous, confidential student documentation while actively participating in school leadership check-ins, PD, and coaching sessions.

MEASURABLE YEAR 1 SUCCESS METRICS

  • 90%+ of student support referrals are addressed and documented in a timely, professional manner.

  • Student intervention and support plans are fully implemented with fidelity across campus.

  • Positive feedback from staff and families regarding responsiveness, empathy, and service quality.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.

  • Certification: Valid or eligible Florida School Counselor Certification.

  • Mindset: Exceptional listening, empathy, crisis intervention, and organizational skills; deep alignment with our mission.

  • Compliance: Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field (eligible for salary supplement).

  • Note: All final candidates will be asked to arrange three professional reference checks, including one with a former manager.
