General Description:
The Assistant Director supports the design, development, and implementation of departmental processes and operational initiatives. This role provides day-to-day operational support, reporting and analytics expertise, and coordination across Enrollment Services functions. The Assistant Director collaborates closely with Admissions, Financial Aid, the Welcome Center, One-Stop, and Records & Registration to drive operational improvement, data-informed decision making, and effective use of technology.
Job Functions:
SLATE CRM Administration
Serve as one of the institution’s core Slate CRM functional administrators and subject matter experts, providing full functional support to end users, vendors, consultants, and IT.
Create and manage advanced Slate reports, dashboards, datasets, and queries to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Develop and maintain a full range of Slate components (e.g., portals, entities, checklists, workflows, imports/exports, rules, translation codes, origin sources, events, forms, communications, etc.).
Assist with system configuration, report development, data workflows, performance optimization, and system documentation.
Provide training, job aids, and ongoing support to Slate users at varying levels of expertise.
Lead functional testing, quality assurance, and validation of Slate enhancements, upgrades, and new feature implementations.
Reporting, Analytics & Data-Informed Decision-Making
Develop, maintain, and analyze reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for daily, weekly, monthly, and year-over-year monitoring of Enrollment Services activities.
Provide data analysis on student progression from inquiry through enrollment to support operational and strategic planning.
Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and benchmarking to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Business Process Improvement & Functional Systems Support
Perform business process analysis to improve efficiency, consistency, compliance, and service delivery across Enrollment Services.
Work with end users to gather, clarify, and document business requirements, translating operational needs into functional system specifications.
Perform functional testing of system enhancements and updates to ensure solutions meet documented business requirements.
Coordinate with ITS and institutional partners to ensure system functionality, timely issue resolution, and service continuity.
Support the functional administration and continuous improvement of Banner Student, Banner Financial Aid, Cognos, and related Enrollment Services systems.
Project Management & Operational Leadership
Manage multiple concurrent operational and improvement initiatives, including the development of work plans, timelines, and progress updates; escalate risks and issues as needed.
Maintain process documentation, system guides, and reporting standards to support consistent operational practices.
Lead process mapping and documentation efforts and support change management through the development of training materials and operational guides.
Assist Enrollment Services leadership during audits by compiling required data, documentation, and response materials.
Collaborate with functional leaders on user security access processes and support access monitoring through reporting and documentation.
Policy Development and Interpretation
Collaborate with Enrollment Services directors and team leads to support compliance with institutional, state, and regulatory requirements.
Interpret and apply policies and procedures affecting Enrollment Services operations.
Develop, document, and implement operational procedures and recommend technology- and reporting-related policies aligned with departmental and University goals.
Marginal Functions:
Attend professional seminars and conferences to maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices impacting Enrollment Services.
Represent the Office in meetings and group presentations.
Participate in commencement-related activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Master's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
