Assistant Teacher / Chef

We are seeking a dependable and nurturing Assistant Teacher / Chef to support both our kitchen operations and classroom environment in our preschool. This dual-role position is responsible for preparing nutritious meals while assisting teachers with the supervision and care of young children. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, flexible, and passionate about working with children.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and recipes

• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines; maintain a clean and organized kitchen

• Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures and maintain proper food rotation

• Deliver meals and water to classrooms; prepare bagged lunches for field trips

• Monitor children’s allergies and dietary restrictions

• Assist teachers with classroom supervision and daily activities

• Support children during mealtimes, transitions, and learning activities

• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom

• Complete required classroom paperwork (attendance, daily notes, reports)

• Attend staff meetings and academy events as requested

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent

• Kitchen experience and knowledge of basic nutrition preferred

• Current Food Manager/Safe Food Handler preferred, CPR, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to lift 50 pounds, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children

• Professional, dependable, emotionally mature, and team-oriented
