Summary of Position

The Human Resources Intern – Talent Acquisition supports Niles' recruiting and workforce development initiatives by assisting with sourcing, candidate engagement, internship programs, hiring events, and talent pipeline activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to recruiting, workforce planning, and talent acquisition strategies while partnering with HR and hiring managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting activities including candidate sourcing, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication. 
  • Support job postings and recruitment advertising through the ATS, job boards, social media, and other recruiting channels. 
  • Participate in career fairs, hiring events, school outreach initiatives, and workforce development activities. 
  • Assist with internship, ambassador, pre-apprenticeship, and other talent pipeline programs. 
  • Help maintain candidate records, recruiting metrics, reports, and talent databases. 
  • Support onboarding and new hire activities. 
  • Conduct research on labor market trends, recruiting practices, universities, community partners, and workforce development opportunities. 
  • Provide administrative support for HR and Talent Acquisition projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous involvement in student organizations, leadership activities, customer service, recruiting, or HR-related work preferred.
  • Interest in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, or Workforce Development.
