We have a hybrid work environment that requires a minimum of three days per week in the Quincy, MA Corporate Support Office (accessible by MBTA and Commuter Rail).
Please submit your resume including your cumulative GPA when applying.
The Human Resources Intern will join our Learning & Development team and get hands-on experience shaping how leaders learn, grow and lead. You’ll work on high-visibility leadership development programs, take ownership of projects that matter and bring your own ideas to the table.
From day one, you’ll help design learning experiences, experiment with AI and analytics, dig into data and find creative ways to keep people learning long after a class ends. If you’re curious about people, technology, data and how great workplaces develop great leaders, there’s plenty to explore here.
What You’ll Do:
• Take learning beyond the classroom.
• You’ll explore and apply adult learning theory and instructional design principles as you research, brainstorm, and build a six-month engagement and reinforcement strategy for key leadership development programs that keeps learners connected to what they learned and helps them put it into practice.
• Make our data tell a better story.
• Help us level up how we measure and communicate the impact of leadership development. If you know your way around Power BI, AI tools, data visualization or data analytics, or are excited to put those skills to work, we want your ideas!
• Help create experiences leaders remember.
• Help shape leadership development experiences by updating and enhancing key programs for our leaders, Partner on program design, content development, and learning materials, helping weave our Leadership Behaviors throughout the learning experience.
• Challenge us with fresh ideas.
• You bring a perspective we don’t have, and we want to hear it. Explore trends, technology, AI, and creative approaches that could make the way we develop leaders even better.
What You’ll Gain:
• Real ownership. You won’t spend the summer just observing. You’ll work on projects that support actual leadings in our stores and have a lasting impact.
• A behind-the-scenes look at how leadership development is built, from the first idea through design, delivery, reinforcement and measurement.
• Opportunities to put your analytics, AI, communication and creative skills to work on real business challenges.
• Exposure to HR, Learning & Development, Associate Experience, Inclusion, Diversity & Engagement, people analytics and emerging HR technology along with an understanding of how key HR teams support a multifunction business.
• You’ll leave with tangible projects, new skills, and examples of how your ideas helped shape the way we develop leaders.
What you bring to the table:
• Active enrollment is undergraduate college or university (Freshman through Senior)
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to share ideas clearly and professionally
• Curious, creative and comfortable bringing new ideas and perspectives to the table
• Organized and able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities from planning through execution
• Collaborative team player who is also comfortable taking ownership of individual projects and deliverables
• Strong attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture and overall goals in mind
• Comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
• Interest in learning how a large business operates, curiosity about grocery, retail, Human Resources or Learning & Development is a plus
• Eager to learn new tools, technology and ways of working – and open to feedback along the way
• Comfortable working with data and interested in using it to uncover insights, identify trends and tell a story
• Experience with or exposure to instructional design, including developing learning materials, presentations, activities or other learning experiences, is preferred
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and an interest in applying them to engaging, practical learning experiences is preferred
• Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, data visualization, AI tools, or similar analytics capabilities is a plus, but not required.
• Most importantly, a willingness to ask questions, try new things and contribute ideas and learn along the way.
