This role has been designated for a 100% onsite work arrangement (in office days: MON - FRI).
Crestron Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Each Co-Op is assigned a dedicated mentor responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron also provides a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, aiming to present a comprehensive experience that enhances both technical and non-technical skill sets and prepares students for their professional careers.

Our Spring/Summer Co-Op program runs from January through August. Over the past several years, our internship and co-op programs have led to dozens of full-time offers to program alumni. This internship has the potential to turn into a full-time role at the end of the summer and is contingent upon performance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Working as part of a high performing team, the Data Engineer Intern will use adept programming skills to manage large raw data sets, bring them into our internal databases, and transform them into clean, reliable, and meaningful business insights for operations and quality assurance. In this role, you will support the team by building optimal data architecture using Python and SQL as well as assisting with managing largescale data. You will build new data pipelines within Crestron’s existing processes and systems and automate them utilizing big data technologies such as AI and Machine Learning. You will have the opportunity to be part of the ever-growing demands of data strategy that support data science and business intelligence at scale. Typical activities include designing, building, and maintaining major data infrastructure, extract data from API applications, and create dashboards, visualizations, and product performance metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties
Leverage big data technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, AI, Machine Learning) to manage data infrastructures and automate data tasks
Contribute to the creation of dashboards, visualizations, and performance metrics using modern tools and applications
Manage SQL database used to store relevant information for data analytics processes and reporting
Extract data from API based applications (i.e. Jira and others)
Assist with data preprocessing and testing for Machine Learning/AI projects
Increase Crestron’s capability with AI, Machine Learning, and data analytics by researching and deploying the latest advancements in the field
Help monitor data input/extraction processes and flag inconsistencies or trends to the team
Collaborate with teams to understand data needs
Collaborate with team members to help build reports that clearly communicate insights in both visual and written formats
Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related fields of study
Must be available to work a full‑time schedule (40 hours/week) for 10–12 weeks
Must be commutable to and from the Rockleigh, NJ area for the duration of the internship period
Must have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future
Technical Skills
Design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze data efficiently
Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL Server databases to support business applications and reporting needs
Proficiency in maximizing the power of dashboarding and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
Solid understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals, including supervised/unsupervised learning, probability, and statistics
Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize and automate data, identify and highlight trends, assess business impacts, and make recommendations
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software architecture
Other Skills
