About Us

The Okaloosa County Clerk’s Office IT Department drives innovation and security by delivering reliable technology solutions, protecting data integrity, and providing exceptional service. We enable the Clerk of Court and Comptroller, along with more than 100 employees, to perform critical functions in Circuit Court, Records, and Finance, ensuring efficient, secure, and transparent operations for our citizens and county agencies.

We are seeking motivated IT students who are eager to learn, shadow experienced IT staff, and gain meaningful educational experience in a realworld technical environment. This part-time, unpaid internship is designed to help students build practical skills, observe daytoday IT operations, and apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software and end-user issues
  • Help maintain and update computer systems and equipment
  • Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, deployments, or documentation
  • Engage in routine maintenance tasks such as daily checks, updates and inventory
  • Collaborate with the IT team and users to improve processes and workflows

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems like Windows11and Windows server
  • Familiarity with networking and database concepts
  • Problemsolving skills, teamwork abilities and eagerness to learn
  • Effective time management and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to assigned work locations
