- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate VPK curriculum aligned with Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten standards
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for preschool-aged children
- Assess and track student progress, maintaining accurate developmental records and portfolios
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child development and classroom activities
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with state licensing requirements
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Florida VPK Teacher Certification or eligibility (AS or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience teaching in a VPK or early childhood classroom setting
- Strong knowledge of Florida's VPK performance standards and early childhood best practices
- Current DCF 45-hour Child Care Training or equivalent certification required
- CDA required
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine passion for early childhood education
