Description

This role is responsible for the support of special events, crime prevention programming, and community service functions. Duties include deployment and removal of event equipment and traffic control for special events. Equipment includes cones, barriers, trailers, message boards, and signage. Position will require the operation of specialized equipment to include Trucks, Golf carts, Polaris ATV, etc. The position will also include support of Crime Prevention programming consisting of the staffing of Crime Prevention booths, tables, and events, dissemination of Crime Prevention materials and creating signs/banners/maps to provide patrons with public information.

Position includes a clerical or administrative nature specific to special events occurring on-campus requiring law enforcement support. Duties may include entering data and running reports on databases, organizing schedules and meetings, and maintaining forms, files and other records. This position schedules law enforcement resources for special events; ensures event request forms are properly completed, review and approve campus event requests.

 



Responsibilities
  • Special Event Support: Areas to include, Deployment/Removal of special event equipment for small to large scale events. Equipment includes but not limited to, cones, barricades, trailers, equipment, and ancillary supplies. 
  • Operation / Maintenance of specialized equipment to include Trucks, Golf carts, Polaris ATV, etc. Duties also include traffic control functions in roadways and parking lots.
  • Crime Prevention / Community Outreach Support: Staffing of Crime Prevention booths, tables, and events. Dissemination/Presentation of Crime Prevention materials and training.
  • Clerical Support: to include, but not limited to: data entry of special events, etc.
  • University Support: to include, but not limited to: lost/found property, motorist assistance, physical security reports, hazard safety reports, register bikes and property, fire/evacuation drills, flag management (raise, lower, replace damaged).
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

This position requires a high school diploma and 2 - 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Three years relevant job experience, prior law enforcement experience, or special events experience.
