Job Description: Warehouse Pipeyard Associate

Position Summary

The Warehouse Pipeyard Associate is responsible for the safe handling, storage, organization, and movement of pipe materials within the yard and warehouse environment. This role supports daily operations by ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining yard organization, and assisting with loading and unloading materials in compliance with company safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely receive, inspect, and verify incoming pipe and material shipments against purchase orders and delivery documentation
  • Load, unload, move, and stage pipe products using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through physical counts and system updates
  • Organize and store pipeyard materials based on size, grade, and job requirements for efficient retrieval
  • Assist with order picking and staging for outbound deliveries and customer orders
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled, tagged, and traceable according to company standards
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and pipeyard areas
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
  • Support cycle counts and participate in inventory audits
  • Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to meet project deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of warehouse, pipeyard, or industrial material handling experience preferred
  • Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
  • Basic understanding of inventory control processes
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, work orders, and material specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50–75 lbs consistently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pipe, steel, oil & gas, or construction-related materials handling
  • Experience with inventory systems or warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Overhead crane or rigging experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in both warehouse and outdoor pipeyard environments
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Exposure to weather conditions, dust, and industrial equipment noise
  • Must adhere to strict safety standards and protocols
