Scope of position

The Laundry Driver/Washer is responsible for collecting, transporting, washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and other laundry items to support the hotel’s daily operations. This position ensures that clean, high-quality linens are available for guest rooms and other hotel departments while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Position Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and hotel guests.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/ machinery.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a large hotel environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Collect soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items from designated areas throughout the property.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle or laundry cart to transport linens between the hotel and laundry facility, as applicable.
  • Sort laundry according to type, color, fabric, and level of soiling.
  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, ironers, folders, and other laundry equipment.
  • Measure and use laundry chemicals according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and separate items requiring additional treatment or replacement.
  • Fold, organize, and properly store clean linens and towels.
  • Maintain accurate counts and ensure adequate linen inventory for hotel operations.
  • Deliver clean linens to designated departments and collect soiled linens as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, equipment, storage areas, and vehicle.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, damaged linens, supply shortages, or safety concerns to management.
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with guests and associates.
  • Assist other housekeeping or hotel departments as needed.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Education

  • High school diploma.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in the English language (Second language is a plus).
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift (up to 8 hours).
