We are seeking dedicated and positive 6th grade teacher to instruct students in the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to build a middle school team, 6th grade is the ONLY grade at the middle school level. These will be our first graduating class.Our ideal candidate will create a nurturing learning environment, develop engaging lesson plans, and encourage academic growth across core subjects. Experience with a whole child approach, classroom management, and working with diverse learners is essential. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journeys while collaborating with a supportive team of educators committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum goals.
  • Deliver engaging instruction across subjects such as literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
  • Utilize learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student understanding.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparations.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support and small group instruction for students needing extra assistance, including those with special education needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school activities, and school-wide initiatives such as PBIS.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavioral concerns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; teaching certification for elementary grades required.
  • Proven classroom experience working with children in grades 3-5 preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor peers or new teachers and contribute positively to school culture. This position is ideal for educators committed to fostering academic excellence while supporting the holistic development of their students in a dynamic learning environment.
