A Day in the Life

We are seeking a committed professional to join our team. While this is a remote position not located at a physical Medtronic site, the candidate hired will be required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is essential for this role.

In this exciting role as a HUGO™ RAS Program Manager (RPM), you will be responsible for driving the successful adoption, operational excellence, and utilization growth of the HUGO™ Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) platform across assigned accounts. The Surgical Robotics business is at the forefront of Medtronic’s mission to transform the future of surgery, empowering surgeons and hospitals to deliver optimal outcomes for patients worldwide. The Robotics Program Manager (RPM) is a strategic field-based role accountable for the success, growth, and clinical continuity of HUGO RAS programs within assigned accounts. The RPM ensures seamless collaboration between clinical teams, hospital stakeholders, and Medtronic functions to deliver best-in-class program performance and surgeon satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Growth

  • Monitor and promote robotic case volume and case mix.
  • Monitor and analyze trends, proactively drive expansion opportunities and address downward trends.
  • Lead annual expectation-setting and regular program review meetings with hospital leadership and surgical departments.
  • Track and report performance against KPIs, leveraging NPS feedback to enhance user experience.

Strategic Account Alignment

  • Integrate the HUGO RAS program into broader surgical account plans and commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to support capital planning, Software & Hardware upgrades, contract renewals, and digital solution deployment.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational, clinical, or commercial issues, coordinating resolution across teams.
  • Own program quality management, ensuring all issues are documented and addressed in the Medtronic Quality System.

Surgeon Engagement & Community Building

  • Maintain regular touchpoints with HUGO RAS users; attend procedures and collect structured feedback.
  • Support user retention, drive increased user utilization, proactively when trending is not positive, and convert new surgeon candidates by demonstrating workflow benefits.
  • Facilitate participation in HUGO user groups, masterclasses, and skill development opportunities.

Operational Execution

  • Ensure readiness for all scheduled robotic cases, including staffing, system, and instrument availability.
  • Oversee field inventory management, anticipate needs, and resolve discrepancies for uninterrupted execution.
  • Download, archive, and analyze tower log data to support program optimization.

Training & Ecosystem Development

  • Lead additional cohort onboarding and skill development for future users and staff via structured pathways.
  • Coordinate simulation training, dry-lab activities, live case mentorship, and proctorship management.
  • Act as the local lead for new technology and indication launches, ensuring operational and training readiness.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 12+ years experience*

  • OR Associate’s Degree AND 10+ years experience*

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience*

    *Relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences

  • Experience in working with Surgical teams in Operating Rooms
  • Experience in medical device commercialization efforts (sales, marketing, clinical) having managed products or services used in the operating room
  • Strong communication, presentation, business and analytical skills

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years of medical device sales and program management experience and expert level knowledge of company products and service
  • Experience with robotic-assisted surgery platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in change management and clinical adoption.
  • Familiarity with Medtronic’s Surgical Robotics business and product portfolio.
  • Ability to solve complex problems across multiple functions

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$135,000 - $135,000

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
